A NOTE FROM REV. EUGENE GRIFFIN
CHAIR OF ST. PETER'S NATIONAL SCHOOL BOARD OF MANAGEMENT
RECTOR OF DUNBOYNE AND RATHMOLYON GROUP, CHURCH OF IRELAND
Hello there! I am Rev Eugene Griffin, Rector of Dunboyne and Rathmolyon Group, Church of Ireland and Chair of St Peter’s National School Board of Management. One of the things I love about my life, is that I get to call into the school and chat: to pupils, parents and teachers alike. It is a wonderful privilege to spend ‘a little pocket of time’ with people as they go about their daily business. Talking about the cuts and grazes we all get in life, showing the newly applied plasters and having the chance to engage with adults and children is a huge blessing to me. And it is a blessing for which I will always be grateful to God. |
Faith is a wonderful gift to have and it is one I want to share. I came to faith as an adult and it was the first time in my life that I experienced the eternal embrace of God. I believe that ministry is all about relationships. Our relationship with God underpins how we interact with one another and with the world we live in.
There is real joy in believing that we are loved and treasured by God. What I try to do is impart that sense of love and care in the school, parish and the wider community. Jesus asks us all, lay or ordained to ‘get out of the boat’ and to be His presence in our world. It is my hope and prayer that my presence in the school will make a difference in the lives of those in St Peter’s school and the Dunboyne and Rathmolyon Group in the years to come.
God bless you,
Rev Eugene
