Maths Week 2025!

​We have been having so much fun this week for Maths Week 2025. From playing TT Rockstars and Numbots from sun rise to sun set, doing some Maths-based art activities with our buddies, playing Blooket quizzes based on maths and participating in a range of Maths Talk, Maths Chat and Maths Action, it has been an action packed and fun week! Maths Week 2024!

We have been having so much fun this week for maths week 2024. Maths Week 2022! 

Maths week took place in all classes last week. There was lots of practical learning happening in all the rooms and the children really enjoyed all the activities set out. Every class followed a Maths Week timetable that included a Maths games day, a maths quiz, maths puzzles and Maths art. Take a look at what each class got up to throughout the week! 

Maths Week 2022 - Junior & Senior Infants

We really enjoyed celebrating Maths Week 2022 and developing our Numeracy Skills in the process. We incorporated lots of play into our Maths Week activities, by playing Group Games with rules such as snakes and ladders, connect 4 and lots of card games. We also practiced our number recognition and numeracy skills by completing Halloween themed Colour By Number activities. We enjoyed using ICT such as the iPads and our Interactive Whiteboard to play a range of Maths themed games! 

Maths Week 2022 - 3rd & 4th Class

We celebrated Maths Week with a whole host of fun Maths actvities. We played snakes and ladders, dominos and Connect 4. We built shapes using cubes and Stick its. We explored shape by maing shapes with tangrams, cubes and Stick Its as well as by designing kites in Art . We solved puzzles and played games and quizzes on the chromebooks. 

Maths Week 2022 - 1st & 2nd class

We had a fun filled week in Numeracy this week in 1st & 2nd class. We enjoyed a Maths games day where we took turns playing snakes and ladders, connect4 and snap. We did a lot of teamwork in class this week, first with our Numeracy Scavenger Hunt where we had to look for Maths questions to work out that were scattered around the yard and in the classroom. We also had great fun doing a Maths quiz on Kahoot using the chromebooks. We finished off our week with some Maths art using the theme of 2-D shapes. We used black card and oil pastels to create pictures using various 2-D shapes.

Maths Week 2022 - 5th and 6th Class

We had lots of fun breaking codes, playing games like UNO, working on coordinates and learning about coding through scratch on our chromebooks. We also held a class vote and recorded the information on tally sheets. We then used this data to create multiple bar charts on graph paper.
