Happy New Year everyone!
It was really fantastic to see all the bright, smiling faces returning to school after the Christmas Holidays. All the children seemed to have a wonderful time over Christmas and had lots of wonderful stories to tell. It seems Santas was good to all!
This Friday we welcomed Alison back to our Assembly. Alison spoke to us all about new beginnings, forgiveness, asking for forgiveness and Baptisms. She explained to us all about Baptisms, how they can happen at different times in people's lives and what Baptisms mean.
We also discussed the significance of the beginning of a new year. We all have lots of new years resolutions however as we discussed these we realised that many of our resolutions surrounded the idea of trying new things. We realise that when we try new things sometimes they don't always work out the way we hope they would first time and therefore we can often make mistakes. We all shook each others hands, wished each other a happy new year and hoped we would all make lots of mistakes in 2019! At first we thought this was very funny and there were lots of giggles!! However, we realised that mistakes can be a good thing as they help us to learn and to grow.
5th and 6th class performed for us in our first assembly of the year. They have been busy learning about World War 1 and they learned a poem as part of their lessons on the topic. Although they only had 4 days to learn the poem (and it was quite long and tricky!!) they did an amazing job and we were all super impressed! Well done 5th and 6th class!
Wishing you all a very happy, wonderful New Year.
